Sakura Saku by Hiroko Imada

I led the full campaign for artist Hiroko Imada at Watts Gallery, where I sourced her as the contemporary response artist for the exhibition Edo Pop: Japanese Prints 1825–1895 (19 March – 6 October 2024). As part of this campaign, I produced, filmed, and edited a film in her London home studio, capturing the detailed craft of Japanese woodblock printing and documenting the creation of Sakura Saku, her large site-specific installation.

The film was displayed within the Edo Pop exhibition, while Sakura Saku was shown in a separate gallery at Watts Gallery. This project enabled me to demonstrate my strengths in artist liaison, creative direction, production, filming, and post-production, shaping a clear and engaging visual story that linked contemporary practice with historic printmaking.
